چکیده
Abstract The response of wheat to the application different rates nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and sulfur (S) under balanced fertilization on soil types agroecologies has not been well studied in Ethiopia. Therefore, objectives this study were (1) determine soil-specific responses N, P, K, S fertilization; (2) quantify agroecology-specific (3) nutrient use efficiency fertilization. Trials conducted farmers’ fields across 24 locations covering 4 5 agroecological zones (AEZs) from 2013 2017. mean grain yields significantly varied with applied N P fertilizer AEZs. With other nutrients, optimum for 138 kg ha −1 Cambisols Luvisols, 92 Vertisols, 176 Nitisols, while rate was 20 Vertisols. dose–response curve did reveal consistent pattern K applications all types. agronomic decreased increasing highest (15.8 N) recorded (49 P) achieved 10 Cambisols. We conclude that 92–138 , 18 zinc boron could be recommended depending type production areas.

Anemia and undernutrition among children aged 6–23 months in two agroecological zones of rural Ethiopia
Background Child malnutrition during the first 1,000 days, commencing at conception, can have lifetime consequences. This study assesses the prevalence of anemia and undernutrition among children aged 6-23 months in midland and lowland agroecological zones of rural Ethiopia. Methods Cross-sectional data examining sociodemographic, anthropometry, hemoglobin levels, and meal frequency indicator...
متن کاملDistribution of Aspergillus section Flavi in soils of maize fields in three agroecological zones of Nigeria
Fungal communities in soils of Nigerian maize fields were examined to determine distributions of aflatoxin-producing fungi and to identify endemic atoxigenic strains of potential value as biological control agents for limiting aflatoxin contamination in West African crops. Over 1000 isolates belonging to Aspergillus section Flavi were collected from soil of 55 Nigerian maize fields located in t...

Response of Winter Wheat to Chloride Fertilization in Sandy Loam Soils
Chloride (Cl) as a yield and growth-limiting nutrient has been the object of experimental attention for the last several decades. Long-term experiments were conducted from 1996 to 2002 at Hennessey and Perkins, Oklahoma to evaluate the response of winter wheat grain yield and nitrogen (N) uptake to 0, 15 and 30 kg Cl ha rates. A randomized complete block experimental design with three replicati...
